A parade of lei carrying, Trader Joe’s associates welcomed the long line of customers waiting to enter the first Trader Joe’s in the Houston city limits this morning. At 8:00 am, an untraditional lei was cut by Regional VP, Greg Paquet and General Manager, David Fuller as Caribbean steel drums played in the background and shopping commenced.
The former Alabama Theater, turned bookstore, now transformed into the newest grocery option in inner-city Houston is home to the popular Charles Shaw Wine coined Two Buck Chuck, Cookie Butter and many other cherished items by Trader Joe’s enthusiast. Trader Joe’s prides themselves on their original, hard-to-find products presented at a low cost to their loyal customers. Weingarten is excited Houstonians will now have the opportunity to join the league of Trader Joe’s fans.
