Weingarten is transitioning to electronically-signed renewals through a program called DocuSign. In the past, finalizing renewal lease documents has been an extensive process of scanning, printing and mailing. DocuSign’s electronic signature capability has eliminated a large portion of the process.
DocuSign allows us to digitally upload, sign and send documents within minutes. The way it works: A user logs in, uploads their document, and sends it to recipients in their preferred order. Each party esigns the document and Docusign automatically sends it to the next. When Weingarten receives the completed document, it is then sent to our central files, eliminating the need to print and store the paperwork. Just like that, the deal is done.
Sony, Comcast and Yahoo are among other users of DocuSign. The program provides full document encryption to ensure privacy of data. Its high security standards make it a trusted solution among both large and small corporations.
DocuSign has made our leasing processes much more efficient. With over 700 renewals a year, DocuSign is cutting out thousands of hours of work and saving thousands of dollars. DocuSign has made it easy for us to manage documents digitally, and our goal is to broaden our use of this program in leasing.
