Weingarten Realty has launched a public art piece at Queen Anne Marketplace in Seattle by artists John Osgood and Zach Bohnenkamp of Seattle Mural Art. The mural is located across from Bartell Drugs in the upper level of the parking garage on the SE corner of Roy Street and 1st Avenue.
Inspired by the landscape and beauty of Seattle, the mural features the Space Needle adorned with Native American-style print; the Washington state bird, the American Goldfinch; the state flower, the Pacific Rhododendron; evergreen trees; Mount Rainier and the sea life that make up the Puget Sound.
Osgood is a Seattle native and has commissioned numerous urban, street style murals around the state of Washington. “Murals are for the community,” says Osgood. “What better way to serve the community than with an art piece that reflects the diversity and uniqueness of Seattle?”
“We are thrilled to welcome John and Zach’s talent to Queen Anne Marketplace,” says Weingarten Realty Regional Property Manager, Ben Miller. “We wanted to bring a mural to our property that would both benefit the community and pay tribute to the Seattle Metropolitan area.”
Queen Anne Marketplace is located in the affluent residential Queen Anne sub market of Seattle, close to Lake Union and downtown Seattle. The center is anchored by Metropolitan Market and Bartell Drugs.
